UpWest Labs Backed Startup HoneyBook Raises $10M in Series A

We are excited for UpWest Labs Alumni HoneyBook on an important milestone announcing Series A of $10M with backing from Aleph, Hillsven VC, James Currier and Stan Chudnovsky of Ooga Labs, Ev Williams, Naval Ravikant of AngelList, Ben Ling of Khosla Ventures, Michael Birch of Bebo, and Ben Narasin.

We’ve enjoyed watching Oz, Naama, Dror and Shadia growing the business and their team with thriving San Francisco and Tel Aviv offices and dedicated and delighted customer base.

Currently in beta, HoneyBook is an invite-only platform that redefines the way creative businesses – from event planners to photographers and florists – collaborate with their clients to plan unique experiences on one simple, customizable dashboard. Since its beta launch in early 2014, HoneyBook has achieved 100% customer retention and sustained 30% growth month-over-month, quickly becoming a trusted tool for prominent event professionals and industry leaders. HoneyBook is operating in a huge market. Today, the events industry is valued at around $300 billion. With increasing interest in having customized experiences, consumers are driving the value of the industry ever higher. You can read more about the recent announcements here.

HoneyBook was part of UpWest Labs Batch #3 where it was incredibly evident to everyone that its team holds unique talent, tenacity and ability to execute and build beautiful products. The immediate momentum came when HoneyBook met with seed investors Bobby Lent of Hillsven VC, James Currier of Ooga Labs and Ben Narasin while at UpWest Labs. This great connection and the early backing allowed the team to build the initial beta and onboard early customers in San Francisco while hiring a very strong technical team in Tel Aviv.

HoneyBook team have become an incredible force within our own growing community of founders in San Francisco. We look forward to continue our involvement and wish them best of luck!
