For over 30 years Robert has combined the skills of entrepreneurship with early stage venture investing, helping lead three companies to the public markets as well as being involved with over two dozen other successful exits.
Most recently Robert was a member of the early Executive Team at Zynga, serving as Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development, where he helped to contribute to the rapid early growth of the company from 50 to over 2500 employees and $1B+ in revenue. During his tenure at Zynga, Robert helped build and manage many of the growth-driving business functions including Strategy, Business/Corporate Development, Revenue, Marketing, Partnership Management, and International.
Robert also founded and currently continues as the Managing Director of Crossroads Ventures, an early stage venture fund. Prior to Crossroads Ventures Robert was the Managing Director of Venture Operations at Idealab, where he pioneered the capital-efficient strategy of "innovation through milestone investing" which tied frequent operating and innovation milestones to successive capital investments.
Before joining Idealab Robert spent more than 20 years in senior management, corporate investment and strategy positions at media, e-commerce and enterprise software companies, including NBC/NBCi, Looksmart, and Thinking Machines. Robert holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Applied Science from Columbia University in New York City.
