Last week, UpWest gathered a crowd of Silicon Valley’s leading VCs, angel investors and startup CEOs for our annual “Seed to Growth” exclusive investor event. At the event we unveiled our new portfolio startups and hosted a heart-to-heart fireside chat between Oz Alon, CEO of HoneyBook and Jeff Crowe, Managing Partner at Norwest Venture Partners (NVP). Jeff invested and holds a board member seat at HoneyBook. His insights are based on more than 20 years of experience as a co-founder/CEO and 13 years as an investor with 3 consecutive years appearance on the Forbes Midas list of tech’s top investors.
We were thrilled to host this session at the beautiful new San Francisco office of our portfolio company Honeybook. In the three years since we invested, the company has grown from 3 co-founders to more than 80 employees and raised over $30M. During the chat the two prompted each other to share their thoughts on investments, today’s funding climate, investor/CEO relations, and CEO challenges. It was exciting to see the passionate interaction between CEO and Investor, the mutual respect and learning they have gained from the relationship and their sincere desire to share the learnings with the audience.
